Built for our own quotes. Now available.
This page is for other builders rather than clients. Everything we price goes through the same estimating workbook, and enough people have asked about it that we now sell it.
The workbook
UK Builder's Estimator 2026.
Microsoft Excel (.xlsx). Instant download. £29 including VAT where applicable.
A nine-sheet estimating and quoting workbook with a pre-priced rate library, built for small UK building firms who are still pricing jobs on the back of a receipt or in a spreadsheet they inherited from someone else.
It is not estimating software. There is nothing to install, no subscription and no licence to renew. It is an Excel file that already contains the rates, the formulas and the layout, so you fill in quantities and it produces a priced quotation.
- 176 measured rates across 14 sections, priced at Q3 2026 and excluding VAT.
- 27 regional multipliers, so a rate can be adjusted from the UK baseline to the North West, London or anywhere else you work.
- CIS deduction handling at 20% and 30% — the thing almost no template covers.
- Overhead, profit and contingency applied as separate, visible steps rather than a single mystery uplift.
- Fourteen project types across three specification tiers for sanity-checking a total against a benchmark before you send it.
- Inclusions and exclusions written out, ready to paste into your own quotation.
Rates are our own build-ups, not lifted from any commercial rate library. They are a starting point to be adjusted to your own suppliers and labour, not gospel.
Honest caveat
It will not price the job for you.
Judgement is still yours. What the workbook does is stop you forgetting the scaffold, the skips, the waste, the preliminaries and the profit — which is where most quotes actually lose money.
14-day refund if it is not useful to you. Sold through Payhip.
